The recent explosion of in the popularity of web video has opened up new avenues and opportunities for online marketers.
In July 2007, over nine billion videos were viewed alone by U.S internet users alone. This is expected to grow significantly over time. In a recent report tubemogul.com reported that the Interactive Advertising Bureau estimates that more than 50 per cent of the US population will watch video online next year. The possibilities of web video marketing are endless.
Below I outline a few tips for using web video to market your website or product.
Creating video content is not a "break the bank" activity. In fact, both PCs and Macs ship standard with video editing software. All you need is a digital camera and you're almost ready to make your own videos. First, you'll need a plan.
Think about your website. Now, focus on what makes you unique. At this point, don't think about your product or service offering. Think about how your uniqueness can solve a customer's problems. In fact, the less "advertisy" your video the more people will warm up to you. Your video content will be the key to your success. Most viewers will forgive a more amateur web video if the content is entertaining, original and useful.
