Web 2.0 has recently emerged as a great way for online businesses to market online. In the most basic sense, Web 2.0 is open source content. So, in order to use open source content for your marketing, here are five things to keep in mind.
Play Fun
Because web 2.0 marketing is open source content, you have the ability to use any content that markets you best. But if you truly want to benefit from this kind of marketing you have to play fun. This means you can't waste your time by spamming, giving misleading information or placing misleading tags. Insincerity will get you exposed—for the wrong reasons—very quickly.
Take the Good with the Bad
Much like blogging, web 2.0 marketing opens you up for critics. While you may find many people agreeing with you, chances are there will be many critics and those who outright curse or condemn you. Instead of getting offended, take what these critics have to say and see if they have a point. You can't control how others respond but you can control how you respond. You never know when a critic will help you further your business.
