Can More Action Eliminate The Education Gap Between Boys And Girls

The education gap between boys and girls has been steadily growing and, to many people's surprise, this may be because of the suppression of action with boys. Certainly crime has increased as time has evolved and many mothers see to it to eliminate action toys and guns from their sons. However, this may be the answer for such a wide gap between boys and girls in school.

Can More Action Eliminate The Education Gap Between Boys And GirlsIt comes as a shocker to many, but stopping boys from playing with aggressive toys like guns and soldiers may interfere with their long term education. There have been many studies done by psychologists that have found the suppression of a young boys natural play habits puts a restriction on them. And this restriction consequently has long-term effects.

While you may not like it, a document issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families says children should be encouraged to play. Regardless of what kind of play is involved, it is vital that you encourage them to be active. And this includes encouraging action to be included in their play.

So how does including action into play relate to education? Boys have an aggressive nature to them and a creative imagination comes with that. Taking away guns may mean taking away an adventure into the Wild Wild West or a suspenseful toll through war. While these games act out violence, it is simply boys being boys.

The fear is that boys who act out aggressively as a child will continue with these tendencies into adulthood. The problem is crime has been on the rise over the previous years as society has become more concerned about gun control and violence. This in itself, though indirectly, proves that guns and action as a child may impact adulthood.

What it all comes down to is boys need to be able to play in a natural setting. If this means playing cars and sports, then all the better. But if it means including action and guns, then it is vital you let it be. By allowing boys to be inventive and creative, they learn to grow. It is through their innate tendencies as a child that boys grow.

The education gap between boys and girls is certainly not solely because of the way boys are allowed to play. But this is one of the key reasons that many families do not even realize. Let boys be boys and spread their imagination because their innate tendencies allow them to learn and grow.
